Had our annual MDL berth holders party at Bray at the weekend and a good time was had by all. Even saw Boatone there, though quite how he got an invite as I'm sure he's not berthed at Bray or Windsor I don't know, nice to see him though.

Judging by the car park there must have been more people there than previous years as I struggled to find a parking space, no problem last year as I was there early and they built the car park layout around my car!

The catering seemed to go much better this time round, last year it was all done by coloured meal tickets which meant you couldn't get food until they called you and some people were waiting until well past 9pm for their food. This time it was just a case of telling everyone the foods ready when you want it and there didn't seem to be any big queues for it, people just staggered their eating rather than all try and rush in.

Weather was much better than last year's torrential rain but can't really give MDL the credit on that one.

Only downers I could see were the choice of beer - please get read of that BLEEP BLEEP (not very good) Stella and go back to Budweiser for next year. Also I believe the staff "purloined" the cruiser club's gazebos for their guests use leaving the club members to look elsewhere - bring your own next year!

Overall well done to the staff for organising it and hope next years goes as well.

Would echo that for Chichester’s (Northney) event the previous week.

Great job MDL (Just please don’t put the fee’s up any more please because of the good feedback!)

Finally got up about mid-day, just in time to watch the Grand Prix. If I'd have got up any earlier I'd probably have had to wash down the boat or some other labour intensive task, so opted to stay in bed. Didn't see much movement along our pontoon all day, everyone I could see looked to be sleeping.

Shame to miss you but I'm sure we'll see each other on the river soon.

A few foggy heads on Saturday morning, staff and bertholders!

Many thanks.
Suspect RNLI did rather well from the bar takings?
