Its confirmed - 2.5% rise in berthing fees next year. The letters to existing bertholders went out yesterday.

I just hope they continue to delay the building of a fancy marina office. I'd much rather stick to Portacabins and get low rises in berthing fees.

Its still not cheap, but you get a good location, electricity and winter storage is included, and there's plenty of room especially in the new part - no 11m yachts on 8m finger pontoons.

What's the news from other marina operators?

Yes - Solent is v. expensive....

.....but at least it isn't getting any more expensive, which was my concern.

You must think we are mad paying what we do, but unfortunately there is no alternative......

.......unless you do the med or Nth coast France. As I only live 25 mins from my berth, I really dont want to get on a plane / ferry to get to my boat.

Anyway, I hope for all other Solent-based sailors that Campers' decision sets the trend.

That is the rate for existing berth holders new berth holders will I believe be priced by the size of berth they occupy.

£358 per metre for the 10m - 12m size band. It will be less per metre for 30'

Regarding the other posting, I have heard that for new contracts they are intending to charge according to the length of finger pontoon. Ive not seen any confirmation tho'.
