Might be heading up river to put the stick up and try a bit of hankie power this weekend, you could always launch at Seas End and do some very sheltered sailing /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yep, out of the weeds, but still can't go anywhere with the weather the way it is. Never mind though, things may well be on the change soon as far as the move goes, but I'm keeping quiet until I know more /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just out of interest and a question raised by the other half and weather related.

What would happen if we were out sailing and got struck by lightning.

I think that at worst case, we will have all the lectrics fried and possible the sails catch fire?

Is there a risk of being holed?

Supposed to be taking SWMBO and youngest son sailing from B'sea to Bradwell this weekend but think it prudent to give it a miss.

If the weather is like last year it will be lovely come Sept once the little ones are back at school and the evenings are drawing in!

Could be worse..........couldn't it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Where we live, the actual weather is often so different to the forecast, that we don't make go/no-go decisions until the last minute. Even 24 hours ahead we often find them laughably wrong.
Wait and see, I reckon.

Yup....

I'm still planning at this stage on heading towards Boulogne on Saturday.....

If you look at the latest synoptic charts and Gribs, there is such a short distance between the regions that will get 10kts and those that will get 25kts that if the models are just a few miles out, then the weather could be fundamentally different to what you are expecting.....

We'll probably set off anyway, and make a decision as we approach Goodwin sands about whether to cross the channel or to head for the delights of Ramsgate...

Quite agree with Dick.... you don't know until you get there!
