WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 1500 Thursday 23rd August 2007
FRIDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAG.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+36.gif )
High pressure centred to the southwest of Ireland is going to ridge through the country during Friday. A warm front is expected to pass north-eastwards through northwest Scotland, with low pressure close to the Faeroes in the afternoon. A weak occluded front close to East Anglia through the afternoon.
Over southeastern England there will be morning cloud and a chance of some drizzle once again. However, unlike the last few days, this is going to show a tendency to be breaking up and sunny spells will be developing.
Some cloud over western coasts of Wales, northwest England and running into the Midlands, although this breaking too and then much of southwest England, the Midlands and northeast England should be dry with sunshine throughout. The cloud tending to hang around the western coasts of Wales and parts of coastal northwest England.
Eastern Scotland should be dry and bright, although a fair amount of cloud here. Western and northern Scotland will be breezier with an increased risk of some rain. The cloud and patchy rain possibly affecting western Scotland too.
Winds will be mainly N'ly 8-12kt (F3-F4) over southern England and Wales, more W'ly 8-12kt (F3-F4) through Ireland and northern England. Increased winds in Scotland at a W-SW'ly 12-17kt (F4-F5) but SW 25-35kt (F6-F8) in the far northwest.
SATURDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAK.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+60.gif )
A weak cold front moving southwards, expected from southern Ireland, through Wales and into the Midlands and Lincolnshire by midday. Pressure remains high, extending from the centred of the high over the mid-Atlantic. Cold fronts may brush through northwest Scotland.
A band of cloud lying along the line of the cold front. There is a chance of a shower over any hills, but generally it should be dry. Further south it is going to be staying fine with broken cloud and good spells of sunshine. Sunshine too over Northern Ireland and northern England, together with much of southern and eastern Scotland. More western and northwestern parts of Scotland will be breezy with cloud and some outbreaks of rain.
Winds mainly W-WNW 12-16kt (F4) but W-WSW 25-30kt (F7) in northern Scotland.
SUNDAY ( see http://www.weatherweb.net/aviations/charts/AAO.htm and http://www2.wetter3.de/Fax/bracknell+84.gif )
High pressure continues to dominate throughout the day on Sunday, drifting closer to the western coasts of Ireland.
Overall a fine and sunny day to come throughout. There could be some cloud drifting down eastern coasts of England and Scotland, perhaps producing a shower, but the chances are that this cloud will stay offshore.
The northwest of Scotland may have some cloud and a few spots of drizzle here and there.
Winds mainly N-NE 5-12kt (F3) in the far south, becoming more NW'ly 10-15kt (F4) further north, WNW 18-24kt (F5-F6) in northern Scotland.
