Weekend Weather Forecast

Hey guys,

I'm not going to go away. No problem at all with a discussion about paying for weather forecasts. It's down to individual choice, if there's enough on web, you feel comfortable with it, and it's free, they use it, why not?

However, there are those who want more specific forecasts and like to talk to a forecaster, that's what my service is there for.

As for refunds if the forecast is wrong...funnily enough some of my retail customers pay opn this basis. I am paid a fixed fee and then receive a bonus if my long range indications (to 12 months ahead) are within certain limits. There you go, performance related pay in weather forecasting.

Also, customers can vote with their feet. If a forecast is wrong, don't use the service agin!

Happy sailing,
Simon

Delighted to hear you won't be put off by this nonsense as I believe most forumites find your posts most helpful - I'm off to sign up to your email service. And of course you're not always right - HWMBO is quite gleeful if he gets it righter than you (but then he is looking rather more locally) ! But you seem to be considerably more accurate than the Met Office - for which many thanks.

And in reply to the steve_clayton - most forumites contribute helpful information from time to time but Simon is offering free information every week. Perhaps if you offered forumites free charters you'd be entitled to the same latitude /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sorry only just noticed this thread. I have to add my voice to your supporters. I enjoy your FREE posts/emails and have no problems with you mentioning your paid services, might even use them before a long passage /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Please keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Colin
