Hey guys,
I'm not going to go away. No problem at all with a discussion about paying for weather forecasts. It's down to individual choice, if there's enough on web, you feel comfortable with it, and it's free, they use it, why not?
However, there are those who want more specific forecasts and like to talk to a forecaster, that's what my service is there for.
As for refunds if the forecast is wrong...funnily enough some of my retail customers pay opn this basis. I am paid a fixed fee and then receive a bonus if my long range indications (to 12 months ahead) are within certain limits. There you go, performance related pay in weather forecasting.
Also, customers can vote with their feet. If a forecast is wrong, don't use the service agin!
Happy sailing,
Simon
