I am sailing with a friend from Pwehli ? marina to Ireland for a long weekend. Not sure where we will end up yet depends on wind and tide. Maybe Dublin or Wicklow.
Any recomendations for pubs restaurants close by marinas?
thanks

There's not a lot in Wicklow. Last time I was there looking for a meal we ended up in a chip shop with some seats.

If you go to any of the Dublin boat stops (Dublin itself, Dun Laoghaire, Malahide or Howth) then getting into Dublin city centre is easy, where there is loads of choice.

I have also had a meal out in Howth, although I can't remember the name of the place. It was in one of the restaurants within 5 minutes of the marina. There are a few nearby.

Finding a good pub in Ireland is never difficult.

We went to Dun Leary (however you spell it) last year and found this very nice place quite close.

Here goes:

Go out of the marina and turn left.
Follow this road round to the right (you'll be in front of the ferry terminal) and carry on until you reach a T-junction (400 yards?)
Turn left on to what seems to be the Dun Leary high street.
About 600 yards on the left is a big pub/restaurant on a street corner. The restaurant is upstairs.

The food is lovely and not a bad wine list either. It was about 10pm when we went and this was about the only place still doing food, although there are a number of cafe's along the harbour front during the day/early evening.

If Dublin City moorings then there are loads of restaurants within 15 minutes walk in the city
In Howth the Bloody Stream is very good, pub by the DART (railway) station, a few others around as well
In Malahide Carousos (spelling may be wrong..) is at the marina itself, plenty of pubs restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Smyths is one I've not been disappointed in
In Dun Laoghaire the Forty Foot is the one described in a previous post. Also does bar food. If you turn right out the marina and follow the road you will also come to the Purty Kitchen
Hope that helps
