Web Site Nasa Marine

Does any one know the web site of Nasa Marime, I have tried www.nasamarine.co.uk & www.nasamarineinstruments.co.uk with no luck.
I need to contact them regarding Clipper Log that only worked for 5 hours.
Not a good start to the season.

You're running a marine electronics business. You're trying to compete with well-established brands. You're looking for market share. You have a poor web presence (polite understatement). Inspires confidence, doesn't it? I wouldn't buy a NASA anything.

Their products offer good value for money and I've found that they give good, reliable, firendly after sales service. That's all the confidence I need. I'ld buy from them again.

I'm looking to buy all the kit at the moment, and TBH I have found better, more comprehensive info the various chandlery sites.

Having said that, I have yet to find many nautical/yachty sites that are up to scratch (not this one Mr Moderator ;-)) I think this is probably down to the industries lack of faith in the "internet revalution" and the revenue it can create. Most of the companies we all want to look at and dream about spending our hard earned pennies on seem to let us down. Even the Jeanneau site, tho it looks good, is buggy and incomplete, and in my search for my new boat, I find this frustrating. Afterall, if I was buying a car, I would be knee deep in the stuff I want to know about!

One good story tho, I registered my interest with Etap on a Saturday night, and sure enough, Kiss Marine called me on the Monday! Well done them is what I say, i have yet to hear from any British companies [/rolleyes]

Needless to say, Etap are getting my order.....

So, come September and the Southampton boat show, I will make it my mission to have a whinge at them, I'm sure they will love me for it!

Maybe their profits are kept to reasonable levels, meaning they get plenty of customers without the need for flashy, expensive websites? My personal experience of NASA products is confined to Navtex, where I have experienced nothing but reliability over the past 8 or so years.

Have just bought quite a lot of NASA equip.Beleive it to offer good readable displays at reasonable cost. Hope it lives up to my hopes!

NASA have been around for a long time ,as I looked at some of their gear back in 80's . That is more than can be said of a large number of instrument manufacturers I have seen come and go since.Some people must have had to re equip more than once in recent years! --Baron Mariner Stowe Seafarer etc to mention a few which spring to mind .

The few times I have spoken to NASA they have been most helpful and responsive.

I did have some confusion over instructions for the wind inst ,where they implied the wire should not be cut.
This forum followed by a call to NASA soon solved the matter.

I think that's an old attempt. i am building a site that will not be theirs but is done with their knowledge and will represent them at www.nasamarine.co.uk

Apart from basic information and contact details it will also have pdf files of all current and past nasa marine products. It's ready now bar a few bits I haven't yet got around to completing. A week or two down the road I guess.

I have recently got nasa Clipper log, echo sounder, & compass, and also the SX35 VHF & I must say that they perform well for a reasonable price, have large clear readouts, and were simplicity itself to install. Personnel at nasa were extremely helpful & efficient when processing my order. I would definitely recommend them.

Websites don\'t have to be expensive...

There's no need for websites to be expensive, and certainly no need for them to be flashy. In fact, most people prefer a straightforward website which loads quickly and is easy to navigate around.

It's very easy to create a simple website which gives good, relevant information. Many companies do this in-house without difficulty. There are lots of cheap software packages which will do this (including Microsoft's FrontPage). Anyone who can tackle word processing with reasonable skill can create a website.

I'm sure NASA's products offer good value, but wouldn't it be nice if we could find out about them online?

Perhaps you could have a word with our IT people? We have one of the worst I ever saw and it cost a fortune, because instead of farming it out to someone who knows about such things, the in-house amateurs decided they could do it cheaper. Not that I have anything against amateurs, I'm one myself, but there are good ones and bad ones. ;~)
