Hello,

I had to share this satellite image with you (http://sat106.sat24.nl/h-image.ashx?region=eu&time=201103081700&ir=False). You can get them at www.sat24.com/gb

It is a visible picture (which means the same as a photograph) and shows today’s cold front moving southeast through the British Isles, extending from west Norway to west Ireland.

Notice how the airmass changes across the front; ahead of it are the clear, sunny skies of the Tropical Continental airmassthat much of England and Wales have experienced over the past few days. Then comes the front itself, producing only light rain. Following the front though the airmass changes to a Polar Maritime northwesterly. This brings the lumpy shower clouds into northern and western Scotland.

A beautiful image and so much to learn from it!

Hope that is on interest,
Simon
