Weather charts

Just had a quick look at YBW weather chart, a couple of questions, any anwers ?

How do you find wind speed and the speed the front is travelling? I see no graph.

Why is the Met office chart differant for the same day and time, as the Met office chart on the site I normally use, i.e 00.00 Sunday. Do the Met office produce unique charts for each user ?

Are you talking about the synoptic charts?

If so I haven't a clue.. not a boaty person i'm afraid! (Yet)

However if you use the 'location weather' section of the weather (http://www.ybw.com/weather) then you can see the wind direction and speed for the the current time and +2 hours. Does that help?

1. The charts that I can see direct from the Met Office web site do not have geostrophic scale (for wind/front speed) either. However, you can get one of these from http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/bracka.gif and this is based on Met office data supplied to the US NOAA!

2. Differences between charts - no idea...

I'm picking up the charts with scale on from a German site, with Met office logo in corner.
Seams odd that in the UK we cannot get free charts from the Met office, but the Germans can get our Met office charts free.

Sad, I want to be happy and sailing.
