lol. I have quite a few stories, but they're not for public broadcast, so remember to ask me in the pub. The Paul and Rachel saga is one worth hearing. haha.

Aah the evils of drink. The ruin of many (particularly on this forum)

I think you will find that Nathan has'nt been to Norfolk yet.
Lowestoft is in Suffolk, Oulton Broad is Suffolk, and yes you've quessed it, Waveney river Centre is Suffolk too.

so...... let me get this straight....

You've ended up in Norfolk, and your experience thus far has been:

Some stranger suggested that you really should present your rear end to him
You found yourself £350 worse off than expected, and can't really remember why
Your closest friend is no longer turned on
and your plan is to meet with another bloke in Norfolk somewhere amongst the sand dunes

....OK..... I see......

All this before he gets REALLY north too. God rest his soul ........

Eternal Father, strong to save
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave.
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep
Oh hear us when we cry to thee
For Nathe in peril on the sea.

O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word
Who walked'st on the foaming deep
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep.
Oh hear us when we cry to thee
For Nathe in peril on the sea.

Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease
And give, for wild confusion, peace
Oh hear us when we cry to thee
For Nathe in peril on the sea.

O Trinity of love and power
Our brethren shield in danger's hour
From rock and tempest, fire and foe
Protect them wheresoe'er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

through a fierce electrical storm, ended up p****d on the broads, publicised his woes, and then contemplated heading beyond Wells. This is (now) the official hymn of the

But tomorrow, I'll be in Wells. I'm taking the 0000 bridge opening out into Lowestoft harbour, then going for it. Well, I have still yet to check tide times, so I may be waiting on the waiting pontoon for a few hours sleep before I go, but I should be arriving in Wells during daylight... although I'll be knackered, which might make getting into the harbour double plus unfun.

SWMBO was moaning I never take her out anywhere so maybe a trip to Wells on Sunday for fish & chips and a pint

Its about an hour in the car /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Have a great trip.

Yeah, it would be good to catch up with you again Jeff.
/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You bring the people, and I'll supply the icecream.

It's based on a chicken tikka recipe, but don't let that put you off /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You may need some waders though Peter, I might well be parked half way up the channel. Of course, if I am, it's because I wanted to stop there, not for any other reason.

May well see you there Nathan, possibly by road as we have a funeral to go to on Monday and can't risk being stuck somewhere, but we shall see

Don't forget, GO NADS /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Almanac has it as 0149 for tomorrow (tonight) at lowestoft, and 2231 for Immingham, so about 2300 for Wells.

At 3 knots, that's about right to land me there for around HW, but I'd rather not get there at night, so I'm going to be giving it death /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If I have to anchor and wait outside, I'll be happier because I can see the channel and give it a good looking before I enter. Oh heck, I'm worried about getting in there now /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'll be fine, albeit knackered.

Saturday has 1-5 knots with a lot of west in them, so I might just spend the night out there, and come in early morning.

Waddaya fink?

Whatever you do, aim to arrive at near enough high tide, ask Ken and Matt why, you don't want to be doing it when the flow is on, trust me, I've seen the video and it's pretty rough if you go in too early much the same as here
Same applies for anchoring off Wells, I think Brancaster bay is smoother but Ken will be able to say more.

As Dave said, too early makes it hard work, not much water - but what there is will be moving fast! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For anchoring, go past the channel into Holkham bay. The end of the channel could be the worst spot for dropping the hook on the east coast. I had 10 mins there before deciding the breaking water in the channel would be more pleasant!!! It was an F6 at the time.....
How long are you planning on being in Wells, and are you venturing into The Wash next? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
