I have done the entrance at night once and it wasnt too bad at all (it was HW and moonlit) - I aimed for the visitors pontoon, tied up and all was well. Do stick to the channel tho - you will see why when the water goes out /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh it's fine if caught at the right state of tide, but yes, you do need to stick to the channel /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

the best place to drop the hook is in holkam bay,the entrance is best done in daylight,you may be fortunate at night and find one of the day tripper angling boats,follow it in at HW

The HM himself had touched the bottom on the way in so wait for HW
