Waterproofing interior fabric

Before i send my new interior fabric to the upholstery guy, what should i use to waterproof it? Someone suggested painting/spraying on Fabsil?

I suspect there was a missing k - i.e. Ask the upholstery guy... Ideally one would chose a waterproofed material from source, I'm not sure that any aftermarket waterproofing will fully suit your needs, most leave a residue or will spoil the flexibility of the covers but you could Scotchguard the finished articles.

We use Fabsil aerosols and they don't stain the fabric. Always test a piece first.
