Waterlog on Ebay!

Did you see the comments in March 2008 issue of YM - ARC Equipment review p59?

Quote" "the Waterlog wasn't working when we bought it so we returned it and then spent months trying to get it back from the makers- a total lack of customer service and support. Another ARC boat has one and it didn't surprise me to hear that theirs didn't work properly either"

Doesn't sound that promising does it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Having a look at their web site www.watermakers.ws there is an address in Chigwell with telephone number.

If it is foreign registered does that mean and foreign registered company trading in the UK does not have to comply with trading standards or is it just that they cannot the prosecuted

It's perhaps not surprising that the company's still going, because anyone gullible enough to buy a Waterlog in the first place probably isn't going to pursue the company effectively for a refund. There are various adverse reports from owners on the internet, including the Maggy V blog ("not a single drop of water") and the David Kerr report ("It provided no useable water during the entire seven month trip"). I'm just amazed - especially by the reluctance of YBW and the magazines to get to the truth of the story.

How long until this thread gets pulled?

The seller said he's never used it so there was no more information there. Strange though, if I'd bought myself a new, expencive, toy like that I'd have been itching to drop it over the side, just to see......perhaps he didn't have access to a boat?

The Waterlog watermaker simply doesn't work according to most reports of the machine. Waterlog deny everything, appear to refuse to correspond with disgruntled owners and insist that threads about the waterlog towed watermaker not working and not producing any water are pulled by YBW. Waterlog have never engaged in constructive dialogue here or AFAIK elsewhere.

According to many people the Waterlog towed watermaker appears to be a completely useless item of equipment and a total waste of money. Anyone buying a Waterlog towed watermaker might be said to be suffering from a triumph of hope over common sense. The Waterlog towed watermaker is according to many who should know an utter waste of money, and anyone contemplating buying a towed watermaker might be advised to spend their cruising vouchers on something more useful.

There, wait until Google gets hold of that - I bet this thread is pulled within 24 hours. YBW, for goodness' sake why not make a stand here?
