Would anybody know the thread size of the oil pressure sender and water temperature sender on a TAMD41A engine.?
My Princess was the same, just tachos. To fit dual gauges you need dual senders (as you said), but the gauges are the same. I revised the gauges at the lower helm, fitting a complete new set of KUS gauges, for a fraction of the cost of VP or VDO ones. For the flybridge i fitted an Actisense EMU-1 and display everything on a second MFD.Hi both of you, thanks too. The plan is as follow...currently no issues with my gauges or senders however the 2nd station has only the typical limited tacho plus warning lights. I wish to fit water temp and maybe oil pressure too on the flybridge. Volvo dual sender units if available are silly money, and then require VDO or penta gauges operating on a different resitance range I think like the fuel ones.
So I either pull the currentl gauges and fit 4 new ones or I Tee the take offs and fit upstairs standard units readily available off a 2nd sender on the Tee fittings.
very smart indeed yours, but in our Royal Storebro I wish a more original look, so as the lower ones are fine think a simple Tee with 2nd senders to suit KUS gauges or similar will be fine for the flybridge. Knowing the thread size will be useful before pulling bits out!My Princess was the same, just tachos. To fit dual gauges you need dual senders (as you said), but the gauges are the same. Hi , I’ve not looked for that starter yet .Hi both of you, thanks too. Can you fix the asymmetric layout - it's offending my OCD.My Princess was the same, just tachos. To fit dual gauges you need dual senders (as you said), but the gauges are the same. Can you grow up ?Can you fix the asymmetric layout - it's offending my OCD.
I was being serious - why would you have the engine layout like that? Can you grow up ?
See post #9I was being serious - why would you have the engine layout like that?
More likely to be EU senders, but easy to check by measuring the resistance across the two terminals with a multimeter.Hi, thanks for your interest, no senders are on engines still so I can run them ;0)
I know the VDO fuel tank senders are wierd.....neither american or european spec. However the oil and water ones may be american I think? certainly look close.
I can probably find you all the senders you need all second hand though , oh and I’ve not got a starter motor in my stock sorry . You can fit another sender next to your existing sender but you would have to relocate the alarm sender to the exhaust manifold where there is a plug . Perhaps you give me a call if you want parts and help.still working on how to put oil pressure and coolant temp on flybridge. For coolant Volvo Paul who is always helpful and knows his stuff advised to use a twin station sender but the price is nuts.,,,prohibitive for me.
There are available splitters to split and replicate the signal from one sender for two gauges but I am trying to work out if this works on the VDO style of off scale deflection at zero resistance. This would enable me to simply fit an extra coolant gauge up top.
For oil there is I am told a spare port on the block so I just need find that! and fit a 2nd sender and gauge.
