water tank refurbishment

I have a galvanised metal tamk in my Twister which is generally sound, but quite dirty inside. It looks as if it has been cement washed, which I believe is the correct way to do these things. Does anyone know how to go about cement washing a tank please?

I dont know if this the correct way, but we did it for 20 years with no ill effect

one mug cement per 100 gall in a full tank and leave a week.

Did not rinse out,


only noticeable down side was in the kettle & these gripping solid pains......
