Western Marinas state they have no connection to the Marine and Property Group. The proof of the pudding is in the constant dredging since September and replacement of pontoons and equipment plus the imminent recommissioning of the gate.
You can't have a connection with TM&P group as it is in administration. Weasel words from his co director at the Marine Group.

Oh dear! Is this sufficient proof.

Some local businesses and political connections seem to believe that the 'Swiss' director COS ( previously the sole director) has nothing to do with present Watchet

Would that it were true ! And that we could have had a French style community owned Marina. The old West Somerset District Council was blind to Dean and Dyball's design failures re mud control, then Env Agency and MMO banned moving mud from inside to the Bristol Channrl at first ( now fully permitted, one understands)

I'm not a big business aficionado so this seems like an awful muddle to me.
In simple terms does anyone know:-
Is Odling Smee still in control or part of Western Marinas?
Is Western Marinas part of or linked to The Marine and Property Group?
I just look at the progress being made on the ground at Watchet.

I'm in Cardiff marina about once a month on business. Last time I was there about 2 weeks ago OS was walking down the pontoon!!
I was told by a berth holder that the dry stack, workshops and boat lift are run by MPG all the rest is run by WM, the carpark has apparently been sold off for building work. Still no fuel.
Don't know who owns the dredger
All rumours.

That's interesting: I have just had some information.

Odling Smee is Danish , not British, nor Swiss.
Marine and Property Group has two charges outstanding against the company, both relating to CardifF Marine Village.

Even more interesting is that a finance group, Tab London Limited , seems to have an outstanding relationship with both Marine and Property Group, and Western Marinas.

Wrong OS has a Danish Mother so has dual nationality, Swiss residency.

Is funding of the various companies linked to borrowing on Bayscape assets in Cardiff?

The convoluted company structure is just like TM&PG before administration.

Sadly the major difference now is
COS Investments sarl appears to hold the purse strings for the whole pack of cards.

I am no expert but I understand that Luxembourg (sarl) remains off limits to financial investigations. Perhaps this was beyond the reach of receivers for TMPG, Burry Port, Aberystwth or Port Dinorwic?

FYI

OS registered a company called PD Marina ltd in February last year and then as it escaped his grasp he renamed this company The Marine Group Services.

Around the same time he registered W Marina Ltd he remains listed as the sole director.

I emailed Watchet the other day for an update.

“The central area of the marina (including A, B and most of C pontoons) are fully dredged. We will be finishing off the top of C and the area around F pontoon and the slipway in the coming weeks.

We have the marina gate operating in ‘manual’ mode and have impounded water on several days over the past week. We are working on the final elements to have the gate working as it should be in ‘auto’ mode. We hope to have news on that soon. We will then be planning further resilience work on the gate but will be back up and running as the marina should be.”

Sounds positive and looking forward to visiting them again.
