hi all. Does anyone have any knowledge of 'wasp' logs? I have the head unit (like an old car speedo) on my k20 but no sign of any impellor.are they a trailing log or do they have a fixed impellor? The one i have is in such good nick and only showing 1.2nm it seems a shame to rip it out and dump it.a source for an imlpellor would be a great help. Thanks

I have a brand new Wasp spinner and line sitting in a drawer in the kitchen. A tenner, posted?

The one that I had was with a fixed impeller on the hull, bit of a pain as you could only clean it on the scrubbing posts, between the two is a speedo cable like cars used to have.

If it is a trailing log (to suit JD's spinner) it will have a ring on the back to fasten the line to & will look a bit like a small version of an old fashioned car headlamp & clip in a fitting near the stern on one side.

If it is mounted in a bulkhead, there should be a speedo like fitting on the back that takes a steel flexible cable in a loose hollow plastic outer & should connect to a similar fitting in the hull with a fin & prop underneath to drive it. Both the fins & cables are very hard to find these days (I have been looking for an inner cable for several years now) and they are likely to be eye wateringly expensive.
