Whilst this is common practice aboard the good vessel Claymore - a word of caution. Make sure that you do raise the thing sufficiently before doing this. It does take some time to realise what has happened when the anchor snags at 5 knots and if - like us - you have a celebratory coffee to mark the commencement of another fine day on the crystal waters, the coffee does get everywhere.
