I think you will find that whilst the Moody you bought was in Chichester Marina
your lift for survey was carried out by B.A.Peters, not the marina themselves.

I think you can rest assured Jon, that MDL, in respect of just about everything that matters to the customer (except of course pricing issues!!), is in a much better shape now than it was a couple of years ago. Of course there will always be disputes, and it's good to have you on board to help resolve them. Will you be on the MDL stand in September? if so we'll pop in and say hello. Welcome to the forum.

I recently helped a pal fit a stern thruster to a 48' Baia, the boat was lifted at C & N portsmouth (where he keeps the boat) held in the slings of the travel hoist for 4 hours while we fitted the wet end of the thruster, and returned to the briney, cost, £390! I thought his knees were gonna let him down when they gave him the bill!..good old England.

Thanks Jon

Hi Jon,

Many thanks for that!

My reason for posting this initially had been to guage whether other owners felt this was a reasonable charge or not. On the basis of the feedback I got I was planning to call the office and discuss it. At first I had not planned to say which company / marina this was with, but then when people asked me I didn't think it should be a big secret either.

So thank you again for taking the time to get involved in this, and now that it is sorted I will definitely be back again to you as a customer.

Cheers,

Chris

4 hours is along time to keep an expensive bit of equipment like a travel hoist tied-up, when it could be earning on other jobs. £100 an hour sounds high, but not totally unreasonable.
