wareham trip.

Re: wareham trip - the sequel

The state you were in Duncan, I'm surprised you went the right way on the Frome at all, let alone find the channel. Never mind, glad you got back safe.

Boy did I have a headache this morning, and I only consumed a tiny fraction of what the rest of you drunken !!@**#@'s did.

Managed to find our way back to Poole in the driving wind & rain, easy just had to follow the trail of mangled ducks! Had Forbsie as a passenger, not sure he is convinced of the merit of planing boats, with the rain stinging the face at 25 knots.

Anyway glad to meet all the new faces, that Col's a right character ain't he. Hope the Brummy Navy got home OK. Agree, great day/evening/weekend, thanks to Wareham and Steve for the hospitality.

Thanks Steve...Brilliant Day!!

Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great meeting everyone and amazed at the huge turnout. Even LeytonC and his dad (slap myself for forgetting handle) came all the way down from the Midlands espeshly, so no one's got an excuse next time (except Chippie and the antipodean contingent, I suppose). /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Thanks also to BarryH and GeoffS for trips on their boats, my first time planing apart from a rib. I hope Lisa forgives me for winding up the little persons. At least I've stopped sucking my thumb now.

Can we do another one next week??? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: wareham trip - the sequel

Ah!, but Geoffs trys to look at swans under his bows at 30 knots. And why did he follow me, I haven't a clue where I'm going. Just one other thing. To the two raggies in the Wareham channel......it was him, not me!!

Yeah! I know its running rough, but your lucky its running at all!!

Have to wait until Leyton gets back up north with his 70 shots but there should be some others. Geoff?

Re: Wareham Gang BURGEE

Re someone elses idea :-

I have researched a Burgee for the new 'gang', I have been quoted a cost of £11.80 per burge for a minimum of 20 sewn ones (not printed). These would be of a simple design, but of course any design could be made. The web site is :-
http://www.national-flags.co.uk/Yacht-Club-Burgees.htm

I thought that included in the design could be a feather, part of a sail, swans bones, % sign for beer, skull, and a compass. If you have any ideas we could set up a new thread and just get on with it, ignore the boring farts, agree on a simple design and get the things made. I don't think £11.80 will kill any of the people I met!! And yes you could have car stickers, T-shirts e.t.c. e.t.c. but lets get a design off the ground and try this out.

Any ideas, first to suggest please start a new thread and I will join in, put me down for one anyway. I am sure all the intellectuals on this thread will come up with an appropriate clean design!!

Cheers,

Pete
