Walker trailing log

Does anyone know if these are still manufactured? I have recently purchased a gaffer with the deck fittings in place for a trailing log. There is no other log on board, so I would like to carry a Walker.

am I teaching my grandmother to suck eggs

Try a boat jumble there is always the few about their. Two things to watch one that they have both their propellers, to the line is a original it's a special believe which won't snag up when twisted. The other trick once you have it fitted let the line-out with the propeller in your hands and drop the propeller or throw the papaya once four-line is out in a big loop! Don't try dropping the propeller in and feeding the line about. To calibrate them all you do is to lengthen or short and the line. (but am I teaching my grandmother to suck eggs)
PS those who know all tell me that black propellers are inedible by Fish!

The decl plates come in pairs port and starboard. Having our prop on the port side we have only fitted the starboard plate....whatever you do, get the line in before starting the engine, as it is horribly easy to snag the line round the prop - if motorsailing into a headwind the boat may be set back on the line even though the engine is in ahead.

Thomas Walker and Sons now seem to make modern navigation equipment but I believe they still supply spare parts. I bought an old log at a boat jumble and got a couple of new shoes and a new dial ( the old one was unreadable ) from them.

Thanks for your help. I contacted Thos Walker and they no longer manufacture the KDO log, just a trailing log that hangs from the pushpit. (I don't have a pushpit!!). So I am on the lookout for a KDO in good condition.
If you know of anyone.........

Walker logs

Having used a walker "cherub" log on as 8000 mile trip from South Africa I discovered the these GPS thingies are fairly accurate as they compared fairly closely to the log once current etc had been allowed for. I would be obliged if anyone could point me in the direction of a spare rotor, although the size of the cherub rotor makes it a meal for only the largest of fish and mine has so far survived. A tip when handing the log is to pay out the inboard end as you haul in the rotor, this straitens out the line.

Thank God, (from a pullpit if you like), that you don't have a pushpit. If you had any rails at all around the stern you would have a taffrail. Am I too old? I mean is pushpit supposed to be an opposite to pullpit?

Ghastly meaningless dumming down word, I'd like to know who thought up that treasure and laid it on us all!

Sorry for the outburst, I'll crawl back into my time warp.
