Vulcan anchor - am I the first?

Any update on the performance (or otherwise) of the Vulcan anchor? I am tempted by one to replace my delta which I am starting to loose confidence in following a couple of dragging incidents, amazing how it interferes with a restful night!

I wish I could. Apart from a lunchtime stop in Lulworth Cove (where it held well) I've hardly been sailing due to a hurty knee. It's on the mend so maybe I'll get to sail a bit more. One good thing is that for its size it is quite light so much easier to haul on board.

I wish I could too. Work has taken me abroad over past few weeks and every time I get back to the boat it's howling. Hopefully rest of summer will be better weatherer in the north.

I have a 40Kg Rocna on my 22ton yacht. Sets first time every time. However I cannot fit a bowsprit through the hoop. I now wonder about exchanging the Rocna for a Vulcan. Then I can get a furler for the cruising chute!
So please keep the feedback coming!

Any further reports regarding the anchor ?

I've changed boats since my earlier post.

And so I have a new anchor.

And after having had a Vulcan, a Spade, and a Rocna on previous boats, on this one I have purchased a Rocna. Overall, I think that it is the best performer considered across a variety of seabeds.

Interesting conclusion - how many nights did you spend using the Vulcan before you sold the boat ?

The Spade was an obvious choice but the 10kg size seemed to have rather small flukes and was only suitable for 'coastal cruising'. .

I am confused by an anchor being described as suitable for coastal cruising. What kind of anchor would be required for a trans Atlantic trip ? Probably more important how much chain ?
