As a preventative measure I am considering replacing all hoses on my pair of AD41-P engines. They’re probably the same age as my 2005 boat. What’s the life span of a hose and is there any difference between non VP hose and the VP ones?
Where can I buy without paying £106 per hose?

Do they all really really need doing ? , having had a pair of 1980s vintage AQD 40A diesel engines 3000 + hours and a pair of 1990s TAMD 41B 1200+ hours cannot recall having to replace any water hoses or even considering replacing any due to obvious external deterioration .
Of course have no idea of what previous owners had done in this department
Do remember being advised to change an exhaust pipe due to some very minor surface cracking on the external casing.
It was pig of job, pipe cost a small fortune and required further effort to stop it leaking at hull joint after.
When removed and inspected, old exhaust pipe was like brand new inside !

Most of the hoses are quite complex shapes unique to that engine so not likely to find non-VP ones. Mine are 23 years old, are original, still very supple and I do an occasional 15psi pressure test on the coolant system.

Pipes all seem ok. Just not knowing their life span. Plus I hate the cracked old Volvo green paint on them.
I had replaced pipes from the elbow down to transom and the exhaust joint last year whilst cleaning the elbow. The old pipe was quite stiff with what I assume is salt inside.
The water pump and strainer pipes look any easier fix and just look untidy.
