One sailing friend said that by monitoring the oil pressure you can get an early warning before an old engine runs into oil pressure problems so therefore am I working on this task.
I bought parts on internet to "upgrade" my monitoring capabilities on a Volvo Penta D2-55 version A (yacht from 2002, 2 300 hours on the panel).
Now when I am going to remove the old oil pressure alarm sensor and install the new alarm & monitor sensor am I a bit confused.
The image on the right side below is the old oil alarm sensor that I thought should be replaced.

Looking at the parts in the delivered kit

I am starting to believe that the new alarm & monitoring sensor should be installed on the top, at the red questionsmark on the diagram from the manual.

Am I on the right track?
If so will I install the new alarm & monitoring sensor and use it for some time the coming season.
When I am confident with the new function will I remove the old sensor because a sailing friend with an old Penta turbo engine lost oil pressure due to a rosty sensor (his engine might be 30 years old).
