I have just finished listening to the last episode of radio 4's "Book of the Week" **(See above heading). I was wondering if anyone else got the sense of the spirit of lone sailing that the author inparts. There is no doubt that this guy really searched his whole being when making his decisions. The descriptions of his efforts at getting back on board when pitched over the rail, his faddish period of boat cleaning and his reluctance to return to the real world at the end of the voyage are the stuff of real solace. Any sailor will empathise with him yet it isn't a book soley for us. Can't wait until amazon get stocks in in 2-3 weeks time!

** it is being repeated at "12.30pm on Saturday" - does that mean lunchtime or half past midnight? Why can't they use a more logical time system?

You can hear the whole week's episodes at:-

Saturday 12.30 Lunchtime is 'Dead-ringers', very worth a listen (If you can drag yourself away from test match special).
