Starting to work on the Helfish again.
I am re engining the v8 Volvo penta powered boat.It had a ford based 351 ci volvo v8 engine and are putting in a gm based v8 engine.
Its all fun and games.
The existing outdrive is an old DP C1 with a 26 tooth fine spline on the outdrive uj.
The new engine is a 5.7 GXI but this went onto a modern SX m1 drive so the flywheel bellhousing and bits are different.
I have an old but good v8 Bellhousing and drive plate but the spline on the back is 10 teeth coarse spline so wont fit the 26 tooth fine spline on the outdrive and I have no flywheel.
I need either to change the shaft and seals in the old bellhousing to a fine spline and get an old type Flywheel and fit a grease nipple somewhere as these old bellhousings didnt seem to have one..
or
Get a complete used flywheel and bellhousing with a fine spline on the back.I believe all the drive plates of that era are the same so I have one of those.
anyone have suggestions or anything lying around that might be useful.
