You must not retire … until you have trained up someone else with the same skills.
If it was easy, it would be a readily available service from multiple workshops.

Volvo Penta could have made things a lot easier by sealing them with a compound that turned into powder if you popped it into the freezer, or responded to casting a “Liquefacta”spell.

I belive I have some more years before i get too old .
But, yes I would be happy to forward my experience to younger interested in electronic and mechanical things.
My son could be a candidate...we will see.
Anyway, I will look into other EVC verisons later...they are B-C-D-E
All are very hard to open because of hard resin.
For now C version is ok to fix.

Norsk Motorkompani has also developed a test bench for EDC1 that simulates all parameters associated with the engine and gear function from the electronic gear lever/control box.
The test bench is an important tool for validating whether there is actually a fault in the control unit or if there is a fault in the electrical circuit on the engine or in the boat.

That is impressive as one of the biggest problems is knowing if you have an ECU problem or a ECU harness problem.
