hi guys, can you help? a friends boat has broken the drive plate the gear box is an ms2ld.
ive looked at asap, lancing marine etc, but they cant find the one I need
the back plate {flywheel side } is 174mm
front plate is149mm
it has 20 teeth
with a rubber sandwich in the middle. I scoured the www. to no avail. any ideas where else I can look?

Try Belgian suppliers / boatyards. Im told VP parts are readily available in Belgium

best so far is £430 !!!!! from ropewalk marine.
seems a hell of a lot of money for what it is.
the part no is 872809 if any ones interested.
still trying to find an alternative.

Hi, This might sound obvious but could it be welded? Is it broken on the toothed bit? That would be more difficult.

no, its the rubber inbetween that's torn apart.

I was the OP on the thread mentioned. It was Coastal Rides that I used and they sourced one. It was expensive! No R&D equivalent, unfortunately.

My plate tore across the rubber - not sure why as there didn't seem to be any oil damage, or anything that I could see. Left me with no drive and I had to get towed into the marina!

ok guys, it looks like asap have come up trumps, took them a long time to get back to me but they have found an
after market one at £75 + vat + del, just got to wait 3 weeks for it, but £300 saved against the Volvo one which we
would have had to order from Sweden. thanks for all your help and sugestions guys.
