I'm struggling to find where I can find the correct fuel figures for this engine can anybody point me in the right direction? There must be some some sort of chart that gives fuel consumption at different rpm available?
The boat is a Prestige 32 with twin Volvo KAMD 300 (285hp) I'm guessing it will be around 65ltrs per hr at mid level RPM say between 2300 - 3100 but I would like to see some official figures from either Volvo or Prestige Boats but can not find either? Help!!

Single engine, outdrive KAD300, and not the same boat, but the figures will be similar for any particular RPM.

With two engines:
- 2800rpm = 64L/hr
- 3000rpm = 72L/hr

MBM. The mag used to sell boat reviews .
I bought £ 7 one of the Portofino 35 Vs Sealine S 38 , they had KAD 300 ,s
Included is the performance chart as above ,I remember 35-40 L/h per side therefore 70-80 L/h cruise at 3-3100 rpm .
You could see if they ever tested the J 32 and buy the review .
J 32 is couple of tonnes lighter so I would have thought the L/h maybe a bit less nearer 70 @ 3-3100 rpm ? Perhaps a few L less ? High sixties or so .
Weight and sea state play a part too .

Hi VA
we have a Prestige 32 with 2 x KAMD300. I will be able to give you mpg next time I go to the boat as we keep logs of miles covered and litres used. I can tell you that fully loaded with fuel, water, gear and 2 adults it will do between 20 and 22 knots at 3000 rpm. It will go faster but we usually keep to that speed for best balance of economy and getting somewhere quickly

I'm looking at a Prestige 32 with a set of 300 kamd engines 470hrs

Any information you can offer on both the boat and engines would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

Nice boat for length, spoiled by poor engine access none the less don't be put off buying one.
They can suffer with stern gland leaks and gearbox issues due to poor access , take a good look before you buy.
Didn't the P 35 work out then ?

Going to look at the P35 in France end of next month!

Spotted a lovely Prestige 32 just arrived in the yard sitting outside the Brokers office. Had to go have a look as never seen inside one before! WOW! so much more modern than the P35 loved the cherry wood finishing and cream leather. Loved the fly-bridge, electronic gearboxes were a treat (I don't get out much!) Walk around forward cabin mid bed, molded staircase to the bridge, very beamy! But only being 3ft smaller than the Princess 35 it felt quite a bit smaller than that once inside! I like the extra seating either side of the main cabin as you walk in and the dinette area in the Princess (rather than the second bunk bed setup) How did Princess get two good size sofa seating Port and starboard side in the main cabin, a bigger galley area (twice the size of the P32) and a dinette out of just an extra 3ft?? Who designed it Paul Daniels....?!!!

However the Prestige feels big for its size and looks like a 5 star hotel inside! Decisions... decisions??

IMHO, the Princess will be a better sea boat by a country mile. The P32 may look nice and shiny, and much more modern and new, but none of that will count for much when you are out in a rough sea.

I have the same boat and engines .Do you have EDC 1 engines ? If so you can get a Yacht Devices 'Engine Gateway' to read Volvo codes and pass onto an N2K network and so get an electronic 'dashboard' on a MFD, for example a Raymarine Axiom 9 as I have done. Only just done this so no real figures to give you yet as had an overheating issue to deal with ( tip: just replace the 2 per engine thermostats on the antifreeze fresh water cooling side, they get corroded and don't open , easy job for a novice like me. No need to drain , just top up a bit afterwards).
