That is unlucky. Engines only really seize through lack of oil or an excess of heat. Rust is another but not on a running engine.
I take it you've had it inspected and yo're not just going by the comments above? The good news is that there's lots of re-build parts available and the removal of an engine is often less scary and time consuming as people think.Hi thanks for all comments. looks like engine seized will take out and find problem

It's about 3-4 hours work to remove an engine on my boat and about the same to put it back in.It sounds scary to me
What was that for ? If you don’t mind me asking ?It's about 3-4 hours work to remove an engine on my boat and about the same to put it back in.
Our VP dealer charges £35 an hour and as we're a syndicate I pay a third of the cost.
Obviously, there's the cost of a lift and a telehandler on top of that.
I've not needed to do it but have heard of a few people who have. What was that for ? If you don’t mind me asking ?

Yes, franchised dealer in Spain. They don't mess about either and charge loads of hours.`Thats exceptionally cheap. Is that a proper VP dealer?
You just be remembering something I said to you last year .Sorry to hear about your troubles.
have you turned it over with the leg off?
Cost depends on cause really.
Most of what I know about Volvo engines has come from you ??You just be remembering something I said to you last year .
Last year I was called to a D6 that the local dealer had attended and condemned it saying it was seized , well it’s wasn’t but the upper gear unit was . Drive off and started up perfect .
Even us DIYer’s don’t reuse head gaskets!Sounds like a bodger DIY er .Can’t imagine a professional engine builder not doing it properly.
