volvo md6a Flywheel removal

This has a central nut and the wheel 'freewheels'. Its alsa ancient so fairly stuck fast. Any ideas on removal ?

You will need a puller after the nut is removed as the shaft is tapered and keyed.

Its never straight forward is it...

Mine had a lock washer underneath with the flange tapped over against one flat of the nut to prevent it coming loose with vibration (plenty of that on the old Volvos!)

Do not remove the nut completely, just loosen it a couple of turns You don't want to see your flywheel flying when the puller breaks it loose.
