easier to put a live wire to it to see if it gets warm. Using an ohm meter can be a bit dodgy with it not having a "load" on it

When I checked mine I just removed them and put 12v across them, they are readily available and you dont need to pay marine prices, there is a number stamped on the side.Y107V. Just put that in to ebay and there around £7.

Take all of the wires off of the glow plugs.
Find a length of wire.
Hold one end of the wire on a good positive connection.
Briefly touch/untouch the other end on the threaded part of the glow plug (where the wire came from).
If you get a little spark when the wire touches the glow plug is OK.

No spark = no current flowing = glowplug dead.
BIG spark (as in short circuit type spark) = glowplug has failed short circuit (much, much less common. would be something else in need of attention too, such as a fuse, blown by the shorted glowplug)

I mean in situ Colin. Just feel the head adjacent to a glow plug. It should be warm. Well, they were for my 2030 and actually that was on for a short time..
