Volvo MD1 or MD1B

Hi,

I have a Seamaster Sailer 23 with either an MB1 or MD1B installed.

Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

sorry, forgot to add she's a 1973 model. So I'am "assuming" it's an MD1B as they stopped making the MD1 in 1970 but not sure.

Also youll see an illustration of the "nameplate".

There was an MD1A as well IIRC

MD 1 does not have an oil filter
MD1B does

They both have a usefull lifting eye at the top for attaching the mooring chain!
