I wonder if anyone can help we have been out the water all winter and had first run out yesterday but can’t get above 1500 revs. It seems as though the supercharger isn’t engaging as the front face plate isn’t spinning. Is there a way of testing the magnetic clutch straight off the battery?

Check the fault codes. 1500 rpm is limp mode

If it’s stuck the vanes oil sticky ceased inside after a long time of inactivity the fuse in the ECU May have blown .

Sure clutches go as well .But rarer .

ECU fuse? If its truely 1500 rpm max…..I would guess the ECU is working.

Stuck turbo is the obvious but read the codes first

S/C will only run during warm up and once coolant is 40c (I think) it’ll stop and only work gain at 1800 rpm + (again…from memory)

Thanks everyone, There are no fault codes coming up on the dash, but appreciate you need the software to read all of them. Agree it appears in limp mode for some reason. Shouldn’t be the turbo as only replaced that last year. I think the ECU is working, wouldn’t this restrict to 1500rpm? Not sure where the fuses are

Not the fuse for the ECU , the SC fuse “ in the ECU “ the black box .My have a pop out one .
Saves the wires and clutch burning out if the thing ( SC ) is jammed it pops and needs a reset .But obviously rotate the SC to free it up first .
Its a while since I had a KAD motors something like that .Distant haze of hassle .

I’ll have a little look, but know what you mean, it’s had fault after fault for the past year, just loosing faith in it now.

Found and checked the two 75 amp fuses and they seem to be fine.
How did you check them?

Does the supercharger engage on start-up?

Have you consulted the EDC workshop manual (which contains diagnosis instructions)?

Have you got twin engines?

Have you got battery isolation switches? If so, have you tried isolating the batteries to reset hidden codes?

Just checked faults on the dash diagnostic buttons. Nothing else in manual unfortunately.

it’s a single engine

I disconnected the batteries as still getting a 12v (no amps) at the super charger when isolators turned off.

Have you physically checked the fuses and tried changing them?

@Mr Googler can post his link to the EDC workshop manual.
