Volvo Kad44 supercharger not engaging

Thank you for this, much appreciated
Thanks for this, most helpful and allowed us to look at a few more things over the weekend.

We managed to get the supercharger to kick in manually jump from the battery and test the resistance on the cable back to the ECU which all seems fine. We also found that the temperature sensor is registering the correct amount of Ohms whilst cold. Therefore i guess it could either be the speed senor on the flywheel or the ECU itself. Does anyone know of any aftermarket ECU's being made yet?

Have you got a Volvo Penta dealer near to you? It would be good to see if Vodia thros up any errors.

VP assure me that ECU's stocks are imminent. It's highly unlikely that anyone will make an aftermarket ECU whilst VP maintain that they will be supplying them again.

Speed sensors do fail. It's a cheap part to replace (aftermarket ones are £30 or so).

There more than imminent, there here !!! 2 of them .

So we have managed to get the Supercharger to spool up now, however have noticed that it isn't disengaging at high speed. Any idea what this could be? There is a sensor in the ECU unit, which i thought was some kind of pressure boost senors?

There's a boot sensor in the ECU and an engine speed sensor, the latter failing more frequently than the former. The speed sensor can be purchased for around £30.

If the flywheel speed sensor has failed it won’t start as that gives speed signal to ECU to give fuel .
