Anyone know the micron count on a VP spin on fuel filter? Still having a few problems following the diesel bug episode. The Racor turbine prefilter is a 30 micron filter but can’t find any info on the engine filter. I’ve ordered a new filter, waiting for delivery.

Thanks. Likely got enough in to slow the flow a bit then. In that case I’ll drop the Racor filters to 10 micron.

Normally for a prefilter 30 is adequate as a rock stopper, then the engine one is finer.

You dont want a too fine filter for a prefilter.

Good news, I’ve just had another two 30 micron filters delivered...

Gen rule is 30 micron pre filter for the older engines , 31/41/42/44/300/61/63 /74/75 etc .
Anthing common rail or unit injector D3/4/9/12 is 10 micron .

All the time I see 10 in racor units on the older engines mainly down to agents only selling / promoting volvo boxed racors.
