Another Volvo D4 question I'm afraid!
Noticed yesterday when manoeuvring at slow speed in the marina, when I applied throttle fairly rapidly from neutral to 'squirt' the boat around, revs wouldn't pick-up smoothly, and it was as if the engine was being 'chocked'. This happened in both ahead and astern.
If I applied throttle more slowly, then the revs would pick-up as normal.
The fuel filters were renewed over Xmas, and the fuel system thoroughly bled, and also the air filter was changed at the same time.
Out in the Solent, the boat accelerated without any problems, right up to 3500 rpm at WOT, with no visible smoke.
Could it be that I was trying to accelerate too quickly?
As normal, any advice would be most appreciated.
