I have a Beneteau ST42 Trawler fitted with two Volvo D4 3001-A engines.They have accumulated about 250 hours and been serviced by the book. A fault has developed on one engine where it stops without warning. It can be re-started after bleeding and will then run for several hours before stopping again. I have checked through the suction side of the fuel system. The seals on both the Racor and engine mounted filters look fine. After tightening the spin-on filter about 12 hours running ago the engine has not failed since but I do not know for sure if this was the problem.
I did hear a buzz that the fuel systems on these engines are very sensitive.
Any thoughts or comments please?
