Volvo 859573 ignition switch

Can anyone help explain which key position, Aux, Off, Ignition, Heater plugs, Start engage terminal 15b. The switch I have to replace is broken beyond providing results by testing and 15b does not appear in standards lists that I have found.

Almost sure the alternative part is

888001.
have a double check though.
aux is to give power to anything fed off it like a stereo or ancillary items perhaps (without ignition needing to be on)
Off is off
Ignition on is next
Heater plugs are next
Starter is next.
when stopping you don’t turn straight all the way left…you turn one to left (from memory)

Correct. From the parts website:-

STARTER SWITCH - 859573 REPLACED BY 888001​

Terminal 15b is the positive feed to the tacho, and other instruments when fitted, the alarm module, and the instrument lighting. In other words the "ignition ON" position ( 15a is also energised in the same position )
