Hi all,
I'm aestela, International Tacticat Admin.
We are VERY happy to see many forum members trying Tacticat, some comments though:
- The only requirement for Tacticat Sailing is to have Java installed in the computer, if you don't access the sailing fields go to www.java.com, downloading and installing is a matter of 5 minutes.
- Tacticat was created as a tactical training tool, it has also become a internet game but, remember, the typical users are active racers, most of them young and rather aggressive (that's because they are not sailing THEIR REAL boats /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif!)
- There is a read-me, 5 minutes, explaining the basic to newbies, read it. F1 will give you the complete key list.
- Available boats are cats, laser-like and skiffs. That's because Tacticat is used by those international classes or national federations to conduct clinics and trainings. In the future (soon) we will add a bigger (20-30ft) sport boat, mostly intended for match races.
- If members of this forum want to schedule a, say, weekly event just ask for it on tacticat forum, here or using the feed-back form at Tacticat site. Also we schedule team races every now and then, a YBW team will be welcome.
That's all. Take it easy, try to sail with sportmanship and remember that it can be addictive (we warn users sailing too much)

I forgot a VERY important thing!
Tacticat is free, we ask users to register ONLY if they want a boat with a name and want to enter the classifications and the important events.
Registration is also free and only a valid e-mail for activation is required.
