How much does it cost to re line the saloon walls black dashboard and bedroom wall etc on a 40 ish foot mobo?
Is it easy and something a diy owner could do?
Thanks

diy is possible. and mostly quite easy if you are patient and careful. The hard part is usually figuring out how it all comes to bits.
if you diy it, how much it would costs depends on the materials etc. have a look at this to give you an idea

most of the finishings are foam backed vinyl glued onto thin plywood. You can often reuse the plywood panels once you get the old glue off (dronco disc) etc.

Thank you that is of help. I like having a go at these sort of things but just don’t have any experience.
Could be a good saving though ?

a few posters on herehave done it. jrudge recently did his Fairline Squadron 58 - if you use the search forum you should find it and others

I had some sagging vinyl linings on my Turbo 36 where the foam backing had perished in places. I carefully cut or otherwise released the hidden edges, scraped and vacummed the foam backing that had converted to dust, leaving a cleanish and dry inside face of the vinyl.

I then glued pieces of foam laminate flooring underlay over the fixed surface using a heavy duty (50 degree) carpet adhesive, then when this had set I used the same glue to re-affix the vinyl.

The result was non sagging, but soft to touch restored vinyl surfaces indestinguishable from non failed areas.

To give to an idea on my s58 the saloon took 11 man days. The material cost was about 1500 ( see the post can’t remember ) and 11 days labour I guess Is £3k? Don’t know where you are but the may have you travel and need accommodation. I am in Mallorca.

I bought the vinyl from SVB with the intention of a DIY job, but someone tipped me off about a local carpet fitter, who did it for €50 and quite a lot of beer..... Top job much better than my efforts would have been!

Wow - I recall my repairs cost me around a few hours and about £10 for the spray adhesive !
