It's now time to do the boat's bottom. She has a not too serious osmosis condition and I'm in need of a vinilester resin supplier.I'm also getting a gelcoat peeler.Having done this work twice on my previous boat I don't feel like all that grinding and fairing anymore.
So,does anybody know of a good vinilester and epoxy resin supplier?
Thanks

Vinylester resin is a not so common resin used for fibreglass or carbon lay ups so any resin supplier should be able to supply it under it's brand name. Vinyl ester is somewhere between polyester and epoxy in performance. It has a low shrinkage so sticks to existing structure quite well but is cheaper and easier (safer) to handle than epoxy.
My guess is that you want vinylester because the boat was made from vinylester. Now with all GRP structures after some time the GRP becomes totally inert. So any bonding of new resin is purely mechanical. ie no chemical bond. So it doesn't matter what resin the baot was originally made from. You can coat with any protective layer you like. So epoxy is the usual choice for a barrier layer because of its adhesive qulaities. However vinylester will probably be just as good.

Years back I was involved in a company producing small aircraft of carbon fibre and vinylester resin. I tended to have a supply of time expired vinylester on hand for general repairs of all sorts of things. It works really well and never let me down. good luck olewill
