It’s thewifeputtingthe dampers on theidea
The boat's a mess, covered with a tarp for reasons unknown (maybe a leak, hence the replacement dodgy headlining) and the heads compartment has a real "solo bloke" look to it - what are the cushions like? I'd have it, it's a nice boat, but not for that money. Assuming they're paying for the berth by the month, and you can take it over I'd put in a cheeky 4/5k offer, cash today, void tomorrow.

If the wife doesn’t like THIS ONE
Hmm
It’s the best you’ve entertained us all with yet
Are you sure it’s not the superficial appearance that she dislikes ?
Show her photos of a shiny one
Because here, the mess and single blokey bit, is your buyers angle ..

Or, ( I’m being kind here, honestly ) Is she saying YOU haven’t got the whizz to set to and sort it and see it through .. You must know each other’s strengths and realities by now).

There is another yacht in Coruna bit more expensive but with an inboard and a better interior, might go and look at that this weekend.Managing the boat underpower with the outboard will be quite athletic berthing single handed and I agree with the wife about the dodgy deakhead lining

Was trying to work out what that tent reminded me of, and of course it's the Sutton Hoo burial, isn't it?

You did make sure the previous owner wasn't still aboard, I hope?

He had been befriended by the club and they pulled him in from were he was anchored as a strong gale was expected and gave him a berth in the marina and he became friends of the members .When he died the club took charge of the boat hauled it ashore and gave it a clean up and a coat of antifoul.Weather he died on the boat or at his home in France I don’t know but they are acting for the family .

Why didn't you have a longer look while you were there?
Circumstances were fast moving and a parcel service called whilst we were viewing called and the wife wanted to return home pronto! But the half hour there was enough to get an idea of the beast. The second visit ,it’s only an hour and a bit from home ,I have a list of things to look at like the cored deck and keel raising device and the deck head lining which doesn’t impress the wife🙁

. . . I have a list of things to look at like the cored deck and keel raising device and the deck head lining . . .

. . . and checking out whether it's 26' or 24', or even 28 ft/8.5m as according to the marina manager.

But then the marina manager also said the owner was selling because he was getting old. (I suppose the deceased owner had been getting old, but now he's not getting any older! ;) )

How do you & the wife feel about being alone becalmed in fog with a ghost on board? Especially one that died on the boat. Lighthouse hooters in the distance. Water swirling in the current. Footsteps on the deck & no one there. Strange voices calling out the crew to arms. Engine failing to start. Water suddenly running out. Batteries flat. Sails hanging limp & damp on the boom. Doors swinging on hinges & slowly banging. Bang, Bang Bang
And that is only after the first couple of hours of madness, whilst still tied to the pontoon.
.
Wait until you have spent a night on board. I even saw Elvis Presley pushing a shopping trolley, full of dead skate & crabs. Roman foot soldiers just visible marching by in the mist.
Buy that boat & you will be in the mad house before you know it. But I suppose that then you can join Bouba & Co

Why not buy Daydream Believers boat, he might even deliver it for you. It’s got a nice name and oh hang on it’s not for sale. Ah well..
I am struggling to understand the running order. A one hour drive x2 and a half hour viewing scuppered by one parcel?
Next time take two cars? 😳 And a tape measure of course !

You might be wrong there. With the state of my legs I have only been able to climb the ladder once since it was laid up in october to get aboard. I have just had to pay someone to clean decks & teak to keep her tidy .If things do not improve it may well be goodbye DD:cry:

I was hoping for better news for you. Bit of a bugger isn’t it? With time and regular physioterririst sessions and some sunshine things might yet move forward usefully a bit more for you 🤞💨☀️
