View undersides of your boat without the lifting - would you use it?

Hi there!

Please can I run this one past you all!

How would you like to be able to view the undersides of your boat without having to lift her our of the water? Would you be interested in viewing below that waterline of your pride and joy via a screen, without getting wet? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This could be useful for examining prop fouls, checking gel coat and antifouling ageing, checking the level of weed growth on the bottom of your boat, rudder and rope cutter management etc and any thing else that you might want to see under the water - without getting wet, in full technicolour from the comfort of your own cockpit? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If this service was available in your marina, would you use it? If you would, when do you think it would come in handy and how often do you think you might use it? What sort of price would you be willing to pay for the initial viewing and would you be interested in keeping a copy of it yourself for future reference? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hope I'm not asking too much, but love running our ideas via you guys as we get such great feedback!

Generally if you want to look at your hull or props it's because there is something wrong. Any value in your suggestion would be if consequently a pre look would save money or time on the final job. The cause of most of my problems underneath have been obvious and don't require a second 'look'

As you can buy anwaterproof video head for abt £50 from ebay, and evrybody has a broomstick to mount it on, and access to a laptop to view, I would suspect that the amount you could charge for such a service would be economically non-viable.

Sorry but no! it's a good excuse to get the scuba gear on and get wet..........well I don't need much of an excuse........"divers like to going down!!!!!!!!!"

Got a mask and snorkle and scuba gear - got to keep the bottom clean somehow!
