Vetus hose slides off Jabsco pump spigot

So Jabsco DO make imperial cludgies. Every day's a schoolday.

19mm is 2 thou SMALLER than 3/4", so I don't think that is the issue. The problem is that the inner part of the Vetus hose is super slippery and incompressible.

I reckon the self-amalgamating tape or cable tie will fix it, but will xait until we are in the water and I am sure there are no leaks.

I'm not very keen on the clips Sopromar have sold me (at €4 each!) so will also try to sourcr new clips or bring them back next time we are coming to Portugal from the UK.

Can you post a pic of the clips, as I strongly suspect this to be your issue. A decent clip made to BS5315 is designed to seal onto completely smooth spigots, as indeed that is the required test.

PM me an address and I'll pop some decent ones in the post.

Genuine Jubilee clips, tightened up with a socket should secure it.
The working torque of a 20mm clip made to BS5315 (as Jubilee are) is in the region of 5Nm. You should not need a socket to get to that torque. There is limited gain to tightening the clip beyond the working torque.

Oh, excuse me, i'm new to spanners and screwdrivers, only been using them for 50 years or so. ;)
