jimi must have got pissed last night, probably fell asleep on the train getting home and today, has a nest of those irritating little birds flying around in his head making unbearable noises.

Have I hit the nail on the head Jim?

Hope you're suffering as well! SWMBO was waiting at the station, saw the train pull in and pull out without me getting off, was most annoyed. I'm minus brownie points at the moment ... again

I've always found that once in the dog box, you cannot climb in any further, so you might as well come to my farewell bash on Saturday and not do the responsible "family thing".

That would probably not be a wise thing to do considering I've already negotiated a pass for the following weekend!

Isn't the ensign on your ketch flying from the wrong mast?

They're keel stepped through bolted freestanding carbonfibre kevlar reinforced ulra light strong spars. I have no worries there. I've slackened off the forestay to allow me to power reach with my triradial screecher.

Reckon he's a wus. He hasn't even got his genoa completely unfurled and the boat isn't even heeling.

Re: Speed camera needed

If we look at the skipper's head and use that to estimate the length of the boat (say 32'), we can then record the time it takes for the bow wave to pass from bow to stern. The result can of course be easily converted to estimate boat speed (through water, not SOG natch). I estimate this, using my handy slide rule, to be in the region of 15 knots. Either the skipper has rigged some kind of new fangled dacronesque sails or he is indeed motoring. Another possibility is a transparent spinnaker of course which is an imaginative way of really irritating stinkies.

Re: Speed camera needed

Zeffie, two fundamental mistakes:

1) I have a very big head

2) you can only see one of my six hulls, as it is a profile shot.

Re: Speed camera needed

Easily the most irritating/bemusing thing for stinkies is being overtaken by a Macgregor doing 20+ knots, which happened to us last year.

Re: Old gaffers in outside lane

Ah, they knew how to make a boat in them days. Clean lines, beautiful motion at sea, Seaworthy, built to last, suits you sir....

Twin 100hp outboards make them much more fun though!

You are a sad man indeed. Is there nothing on telly?

Re: Sad support for zefender

Aw. I was quite admiring his resourcefulness! But to answer your question, no, there is sod all on the telly and hasn't been since 1974 "The World at War" but it's on dvd now.
