Sorry forgot, they have just cancelled all the flights and no refunds either, if it was under £100.00 forget getting it back from the credit card company and of course it will be less than the excess on the flight insurance.

You tend to leave your stuff on the boat a suite of clothes .What little you wear never get damp and mouldy , nor does the boat for that matter .Honestly in 16 yrs i am struggling to remember if i ever donned the waterproof kit .
Actually forgotten where the S wester stuff is stored ……..Think we have some . :) Years of U.K. boating we lived in them .

Fortunately we drive a nice drive too . Get your point about air travel at the mo and foreseeable future .
But it will return to normality in a few years .

Tides + mud arh U.K. boating forgot about that too .
There is just something nice about swimming in the sea every day .Must be pretty miserable anchored in brown water unable to go in .

Even I am not prepared to show my " art" pictures of OG swimming in the crystal waters of the Medway. :):):).
Do have painful memories however of fellow swimmers comparing welts and inflamed red flesh courtesy the hordes of jellyfish lying in wait in the waters in the Med :)

Yep - jellies can be a problem.
Maybe is is because we can actually see through that turquoise water.

But it wasn't a problem because this was just round the corner - 5 mins in the tender

And after a few bottles of the local liquid, all those jellies vanished from our minds.

I didn’t know that - SWMBO has an Irish passport so perhaps the same might apply to us? Or do you have some kind of residency in the EU?

I have residency in Belgium, that only allows me unlimited time in Belgium in my own right, however outside of Belgium I still have the 90/180 restriction. So, as my wife is an EU national (Belgian citizen) then I'm allowed to accompany her throughout the EU as long as I stay with her then there is no time limit on it, it's part of the rules for family reunification.
if we stay more than 3 months (the 90 days) in another country then we are supposed to register there, however you can move around, 89 days in one country and 89 days in the next... and so on. As long as you are self supporting ie. not becoming a burden to your current host country then they don't bother you.

That is helpful thanks. Think I need to do some research - perhaps retirement plans haven’t been kyboshed by Brexit!

Mine have been a bit, but the covid restrictions have been a lot worse for us in the short term, it was about 21 months before we got back to the UK and that really forced the hand in me taking residency in Belgium.

Actually, EU visitors in the UK get 180/360! The UK was offered a reciprocal agreement but declined (so as to fully maintain 'control of the borders'). It's been discussed at length in other threads on here.

I thought that was the case and it makes no sense whatsoever that we didn't take the reciprocal agreement.
 
I think the argument put forwards was that the EU offered full access for all UK citizens if the UK reciprocated, the UK only wanted to offer limited access for some EU citizens.
