Hi,

i may be selling my 1990 ??? boat, how do i prove VAT has been paid to a prospective purchaser ?

Really no way of definitively proving it without one. Can you track down the previous owners or original builder to see if they have any docs which may help? Suggest you have a chat with the RYA's legal team-see if they can help at all.

I don't know if it is of help in your case: I bought my boat in the UK, and the previous owner provided me with a letter from HM Customs and Excise Business Services and Taxes, where it states the VAT status of the boat.
