Vancouver 27 Rudder Bearings

I bought a V27 last winter. Though the rudder bearings didn't show up in the survey I had done, both the pins that hold the rudder to the hull above the water line are very loose. So much so that their clonking drives you mad at anchor if there's any sea running. As far as I can tell these bearings are just metal to metal. Are there supposed to be bushes in there that have worn out? If so is this likely to prove a more serious problem than just a slight annoyance.

Anyone any ideas

My V27 has nylon inserts in the rudder bearings, and when they are dry they squeak. Suggest you contact Northshore the builders, they may still use the same bearing on the V28
