Van der Valk 23M in build

Hi Wakeup,

Thanks!

The role that I perform within the VdV company is brand manager. In fact I am responsible for (inter alia) the following:

Steward of the brand that supports the brand promise, brand vision, brand position and brand architecture.
I engage, inspire and galvanize the organization around the brand vision, position and strategies so they are clear in bringing them to life in their areas of functional expertise.

Actually I take care of the corporate identity of the company.

However, I am closely involved in the construction process and I keep existing customers informed of the construction process of their new VdV.

In fact I can answer all sort of questions (as far as my knowledge reaches)

Very interesting post finding it enjoyable all the way.
Yoeri how many years has this process of construction been in the marine industry and have you any photo evidence to back up the reliability issues.

Ah, for that you need to speak to a dealer - like me!
List is €2,855,000 or circa £2,270,000 for a 23m Flybridge and 3xIPS units.
As for starting price, it is really the end price as the boat comes with everything you are ever really going to need
- wait until the thread progresses and you see what is included as standard, I think many of you will be truly amazed
- now stop asking about discounts:confused:, its such a nasty word and we would not like to see this thread turn into a sales pitch would we?:D:D

Sounds like it's already there.;)

Dear David,

Thanks!
Well this method is already used for several decades. Wim van der Valk himself founded the business in 1968. Since the end of the 80's / beginning of the 90's we started making aluminium boats (previous was especially steel).

The pictures below are a VdV Vitesse casco (aluminium) which was built in the beginning of the 90's and are still making 300/400k (in euros) on the second hand market.

These ships are still sailing (even the ones built back in the 60's).

I think you just overstepped the mark.

I think many on here were willing for this thread to run as a technical build interest thread.

You have turned this into a product pitch and a double header between VdV's brand manager and you the dealer. Not at all acceptable on here or fair to the other boat manufacturers whose advertising revenue funds this forum and certainly compromises the integrity of the forum IMHO.

+1. it has been heading that way for the last page or so...

Yep come on Imperial One pull the price tags we all know this type of boat is expensive and you sell them, but price listing like that will get this tread pulled.
just go back and remove them please as I for one would like to see more of the building.

Hello guys,

Totally agree with this point.

Please note that it was not my intention to throw with prices, but only as an answer for Pete's question. I will remove it.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I totally agree and I also think, especially after all the warnings on the earlier sister thread, which were more than adequately summed up by Deleted User, that the constant commercial breaks from Mike at Imperial have completely undermined any integrity that this thread might have possibly retained had it progressed.
I have long been an admirer of Wim van der valk's and nearly bought one a few years ago and am currently reconsidering them again at the moment however,I don't think that this is doing anybody's reputation any favours. A pity, because it could have been interesting - if only to show us why they cost more than an estate in the country.

OK Guys - I tried to answer the question asked and not to make a pitch. Apologies if you read it this way.
Like Yoeri, I have removed the answer so I sincerely hope there is no longer an issue here. :o

Hi Yoeri,

With the IPS units, what is the typical or designed performance envelope for this craft? Range v Speed etc?

Thanks

Wakeup

MPI testing.... Magnetic particle inspection.
Its used through out construction and inspection industry.
Requires use of a strong magnetic field, either through permanent or electro magnets to allign the iron filings held in suspension in a florescene solution.
I use it at work inspecting oil and gas platforms for shell, BP, et al.
Works underwater just the same as it does topsides...

Would you not be better off using die pen as aluminium is not magnetic?
Keep the pictures coming. Really interesting to see how these things are built.

Dear Wakeup,

Thanks for asking. I have the following details for you regarding fuel consumption/range/rpm/speed of a CII 23.00 FLY fitted with a tripple IPS-800 stack and a 11.000 liter fuel tank:

scaled.php

This extra wide version will be fitted with a tripple IPS-1050 stack, I also have some details about the fuel consumtion of the 1050 configuration but I will come back to this tomorrow.

Sorry for being a little simple but am i reading this correctly?

At 24.7 Kts engines are running at 2390 RPM and using combine fuel of 312L per hour giving a range of 870 NM??

Total fuel burn 10,989L?

that seems amazing

Hi Z1ppy!

You are reading it correctly!

The fuel consumption is combines (3 engines al together).
But on the lower speeds IPS is amazingly efficient!

Yoeri

Edit: Thanks for mentioning Z1ppy, I have added the fact that the ship was fitted with a 11.000 liter fuel tank.

wow! thats impressive.

Would be interested to see a comparison with comparable size shaft drive boat. will do some digging to see what i can find.
